Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 3 seed, reached the semi-finals of the Florianopolis Open after Romanian qualifier Anca Alexia Todoni withdrew before the match on Friday evening.
Podoroska, ranked No 75, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Martina Capurro Taborda and Frenchwoman Carole Monnet next.
The Argentinian won against Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (6-4, 6-1) and Slovenian Polona Hercog (6-2, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Todoni, ranked No 256, beat Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the No 5 seed (6-2, 6-2) and Brazilian wildcard Gabriela Ce (6-1, 6-3).
