Montevideo Open: Parry books spot in quarter-finals

Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the top seed, won against Greek Despina Papamichail 6-1, 6-2 to reach the last eight of the Montevideo Open at the Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday night.
Parry, ranked No 94, will play Argentinian Solana Sierra, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Uruguayan tournament, the 21-year-old Frenchman defeated Russian Amina Anshba (7-5, 6-3).
Papamichail, ranked No 221, won against American Victoria Hu (6-4, 6-2) during the first round of the Uruguayan tournament.
