Marseille Open: Humbert advances to semi-finals, beats Fokina in straight sets

Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 4 seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the Marseille Open by beating Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 5 seed, 6-1, 6-4 at the Palais des sports on Friday afternoon.
Humbert, ranked No 21, will play the winner of the match between Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the top seed, and Tomas Machac next.
The Frenchman won against qualifier Hugo Gaston (2-6, 6-1, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Marseille tournament, Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 24, edged out Frenchman Gregoire Barrere (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) and defeated Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (6-3, 7-5).
