Qatar Open: Fernandez moves into second round
Leylah Fernandez won against Liudmila Samsonova 7-5, 7-6 (4) on Monday afternoon and will face Spanish wildcard Paula Badosa in the next round

Canadian Leylah Fernandez beat Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 12 seed, 7-5, 7-6 (4) to reach the second round of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Monday.
Fernandez, ranked No 38, will play Spanish wildcard Paula Badosa next.
