American wildcard Patrick Kypson advanced to the quarter-finals of the Delray Beach Open by beating Frenchman Constant Lestienne 6-4, 6-4 at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center on Wednesday evening.
Kypson, ranked No 155, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 4 seed, and American Marcos Giron next.
Ahead of his victory, the American won against Serb Miomir Kecmanovic, the No 5 seed (6-4, 7-6 (3)). Lestienne, ranked No 104, defeated Australian Aleksandar Vukic (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Delray Beach tournament.
