Argentinian wildcard Facundo Diaz Acosta moved into the last 4 of the Argentina Open by beating Serb Dusan Lajovic 6-4, 6-3 at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Friday evening.
Acosta, ranked No 87, will face the winner of the match between No 5 seed Sebastian Baez and Federico Coria next.
The Argentinian won against German Daniel Altmaier (6-3, 7-6 (1)) and No 4 seed Francisco Cerundolo (7-6 (3), 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Buenos Aires Open, Lajovic, ranked No 58, won against Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-4) and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (6-4, 1-6, 6-1).
