Dubai Open: Sakkari snaps three-match losing streak to reach last 16
This was only Sakkari’s second win of the season

Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 8 seed, beat American Emma Navarro 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the last 16 of the Dubai Open at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
This was only the second win of the 2024 season for the Sakkari, who lost in the second round of the Australian Open and then her opening round matches in Abu Dhabi and Doha.
Sakkari, ranked No 11, will play the winner of the match between Canadian Leylah Fernandez and Italian Jasmine Paolini next.
Navarro, ranked No 23, edged out Katerina Siniakova (4-6, 7-5, 6-4) in the previous round of the Dubai tournament.
