Rio Open: Garin into second round
The Chilean will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 7 seed, and Brazilian wildcard Joao Fonseca in the next round

Chile’s Cristian Garin defeated Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena 2-6, 7-6 (1), 6-3 to reach the second round of the Rio Open at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday.
Garin, ranked No 88, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 7 seed, and Brazilian wildcard Joao Fonseca next.
