Qatar Open: Rublev into quarter-finals
Andrey Rublev won against Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-4 on Wednesday evening. He’ll play Jakub Mensik in the next round

Russian Andrey Rublev, the top seed, reached the last eight of the Qatar Open by beating French wildcard Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-4 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Wednesday evening.
Rublev, ranked No 5, will face Jakub Mensik next in his fourth consecutive quarter-final of 2024.
Rublev has now got a 14-1 record against French players since the start of 2022, with his sole defeat coming to Ugo Humbert at Beijing in 2023.
In the previous round of the Doha tournament, Gasquet, ranked No 126, won against Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko (6-4, 6-4).
