Qatar Open: Monfils sets up clash with teenager Mensik in semi-finals

Wildcard Gael Monfils advanced to the semi-finals of the Qatar Open by winning against No 3 seed and fellow Frenchman Ugo Humbert 6-2, 6-4 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Thursday evening.
Monfils, ranked No 68, will play Jakub Mensik next after the 18-year-old Czech upset top seed Andrey Rublev earlier in the day.
In the previous rounds of the Doha tournament, Gael Monfils beat Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (6-1, 7-6 (9)) and edged out Chinese Zhizhen Zhang (4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (2)).
Humbert, ranked No 18, won against Russian Pavel Kotov (6-4, 6-1) in the previous round of the Doha tournament.
