Dubai Open: Humbert books spot in last eight, beats Murray

Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 5 seed, advanced to the last 8 of the Dubai Open by winning against Andy Murray 6-2, 6-4 at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Wednesday.
Humbert, ranked No 18, will face the winner of the match between Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 3 seed, and Australian Christopher O’Connell next, in what will be his 25th tour-level quarter-final.
In the previous round of the Dubai tournament, the Frenchman beat wildcard Gael Monfils (4-6, 6-3, 6-3).
Murray, ranked No 67, won against Canadian Denis Shapovalov (4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3) in the previous round of the Dubai tournament.
