Antalya Open: Sonmez reaches quarter-finals

Zeynep Sonmez moved into the last 8 of the Antalya Open by winning against German Ella Seidel 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 at the Megasaray Tennis Academy on Thursday.
Sonmez, ranked No 172, will play the winner of the match between Japanese Moyuka Uchijima and Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the second seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, Zeynep Sonmez defeated Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro, the No 8 seed (6-1, 6-7 (8), 6-2).
Seidel, ranked No 152, beat Croat Jana Fett (6-1, 6-2) in the previous round of the Antalya tournament.
