Djokovic practicing on clay ahead of Monte-Carlo Masters
With the Miami Open still underway, Novak Djokovic is already practicing on clay — getting ready for the upcoming Monte-Carlo Masters.

Novak Djokovic did not play in the Miami Open, instead opting to get ready for the clay-court swing.
That is exactly what he has been doing this week, trying to get a leg up on the rest of the competition by practicing on clay in Belgrade. The top-ranked Serb will begin the spring swing on the crushed brick at next month’s Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters.
Djokovic’s currently clay-court schedule also includes Barcelona plus the other two Masters 1000 tournaments in Madrid and Rome. The 36-year-old has triumphed at Monte-Carlo twice, in Madrid three times and in Rome six times.
Monte-Carlo will mark Djokovic’s first event since he split from coach Goran Ivanisevic. That announcement came after the 24-time Grand Slam champion lost in the Indian Wells third round to lucky loser Luca Nardi.
