Russian qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva advanced to the last eight of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open by defeating Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Wednesday.
Oksana Selekhmeteva will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 6 seed, and Andorran qualifier Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva next.
In the previous round, the 21-year-old Russian won against Spanish wildcard Leyre Romero Gormaz (7-5, 6-3). Kawa, ranked No 181, beat Chinese Zhuoxuan Bai, the No 3 seed (5-7, 7-5, 6-3).
