Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 6 seed, won against Andorran qualifier Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Wednesday.
Carle, ranked No 98, will play Russian qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva next.
In the previous round of the La Bisbal d’Emporda tournament, the Argentinian beat Sara Bejlek (6-1, 6-3).
Jimenez Kasintseva, ranked No 379, defeated Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet (6-3, 7-6 (5)) during the first round of the La Bisbal d’Emporda tournament.
