Bogota Open: Errani outlasts Sorribes Tormo to make quarter-finals
Sara Errani edged out Sara Sorribes Tormo 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 on Wednesday evening and will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Laura Pigossi and Romanian Irina Bara in the next round
Italian Sara Errani moved into the quarter-finals of the Bogota Open by edging out Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 3 seed, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 at the Country Club Bogota on Wednesday evening.
Errani, ranked No 117, will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Laura Pigossi and Romanian Irina Bara next.
In the previous round of the Bogota tournament, the 36-year-old Italian defeated Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva (6-2, 7-6 (5)).
Sorribes Tormo, ranked No 50, won against Russian Maria Timofeeva (6-1, 6-3) in the previous round of the Bogota tournament.
