Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 4 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Houston Open by beating Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan 6-4, 6-4 at River Oaks Country Club on Thursday night.
Etcheverry, ranked No 30, will face American wildcard Michael Mmoh next.
In the previous round of the Houston tournament, Galan, ranked No 83, won against Frenchman Benoit Paire (7-6 (13), 6-4).
