Serb Olga Danilovic advanced to the semi-finals of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open by winning against Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Friday.
Danilovic, ranked No 128, will play the winner of the match between Slovak Rebecca Sramkova and Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the No 5 seed, next.
The Serb beat Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-1) and Romanian lucky loser Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-4, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the La Bisbal d’Emporda tournament, Jacquemot, ranked No 157, edged out No 4 seed Harriet Dart (1-6, 6-4, 6-4) and defeated Austrian Sinja Kraus (6-4, 4-6, 6-1).
