Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta moved into the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open by winning against Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, the No 17 seed, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Thursday afternoon.
Acosta, ranked No 53, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, next.
The Argentinian beat Spanish wildcard Daniel Rincon (6-1, 6-4) and Croat Borna Coric, the No 15 seed (6-2, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Barcelona tournament.
In the previous round of the Barcelona tournament, Marozsan, ranked No 39, benefited from the abandonment of Frenchman Luca Van Assche (6-0, 3-2).
