Oeiras Ladies Open: Top seed Pera beats Jorge to reach last four

American Bernarda Pera, the top seed, beat Portuguese Francisca Jorge 6-4, 6-1 to reach the last four of the Oeiras Ladies Open.
Pera, ranked No 82, will play the winner of the match between Dane Clara Tauson, the No 4 seed, and Portuguese wildcard Matilde Jorge next.
The American benefited from the abandonment of Australian Astra Sharma (1-2) and beat Croat qualifier Tena Lukas (3-6, 6-1, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Jorge, ranked No 190, edged out Russian Anastasia Zakharova (3-6, 6-1, 6-4) and won against Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 7 seed (6-3, 7-5).
