Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 3 seed, beat Italian Matteo Arnaldi 6-4, 6-3 to move into the last 4 of the Barcelona Open at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona.
Ruud, ranked No 6, will face Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 13 seed, next.
The Norwegian won against Frenchman Alexandre Muller (6-3, 6-4) and Australian Jordan Thompson, the No 14 seed (6-1, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Arnaldi, ranked No 40, defeated Frenchman Arthur Cazaux (5-5 ret.), Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 8 seed (5-7, 7-6 (8), 6-2) and Argentinian qualifier Marco Trungelliti (6-3, 6-0).
