Geneva Open: Baez moves into quarter-finals

Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 5 seed, defeated Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena 6-3, 6-0 to reach the last 8 of the Geneva Open at Tennis Club de Genève, Parc des Eaux-Vives on Wednesday.
Baez, ranked No 20, will face the winner of the match between Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner and Norwegian Casper Ruud, the second seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Argentinian won against Indian Sumit Nagal (7-6 (7), 6-3).
Carballes Baena, ranked No 62, beat German Daniel Altmaier (7-6 (2), 6-4) in the previous round of the Geneva tournament.
