Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 6 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Open delle Puglie by winning against Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday.
Zarazua, ranked No 102, will face Hungarian Panna Udvardy next.
In the previous round, the Mexican defeated Kazakh qualifier Zhibek Kulambayeva (6-3, 6-2).
Zavatska, ranked No 196, beat Italian qualifier Martina Colmegna (6-2, 6-4) in the previous round.
