Kazakh Yulia Putintseva beat Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina 6-3, 6-0 to move into the last 8 of the Birmingham Open at Edgbaston Priory Club on Thursday.
Putintseva, ranked No 41, will face the winner of the match between American lucky loser Caroline Dolehide and Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 5 seed, next.
The Kazakh won against Frenchwoman Clara Burel (6-3, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Birmingham tournament, Kalinina, ranked No 47, benefited from the abandonment of No 4 seed Katie Boulter (6-3).
