Australian Ajla Tomljanovic beat Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 6 seed, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the last 4 of the Birmingham Open at Edgbaston Priory Club on Friday evening.
Tomljanovic, ranked No 190, will face Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 7 seed, next.
The Australian won against Russian Anna Blinkova (6-2, 6-1) and edged out Chinese Lin Zhu (6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Fernandez, ranked No 33, defeated Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo (6-1, 6-1) and Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic (4-6, 7-5, 6-3).
