From Wimbledon to Munich, Djokovic’s speedy trip to support Serbia at Euro 2024

Novak Djokovic‘s participation in the 2024 edition of Wimbledon remains unclear. After undergoing surgery on his right knee following his withdrawal from the quarter-finals of the French Open, the Serbian arrived in London earlier this week to test himself on the grass of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

And in the midst of his training sessions, the man with 24 Grand Slam titles to his name flew to Germany on Tuesday, to Munich to be precise, to attend Serbia’s final match at Euro 2024.

The 37-year-old was first present at the edge of the pitch during his compatriots’ warm-up, and took the time to greet each player before their return to the dressing room. All in all, it was a great way to give them a positive boost before they took on Holger Rune’s Denmark.

Djokovic then took to the stands wearing a Serbia jersey emblazoned with the number one shirt. Unfortunately for Nole, his national team failed to qualify for the last 16 after a 0-0 draw with Denmark.

The world No 2 returned to the grass courts at Wimbledon on Wednesday. In an interview with the BBC earlier this week, Novak Djokovic explained that he would only take part in the British tournament if he felt ready to fight for victory.

He is expected to give his verdict before the end of the week. The Wimbledon draw will take place this Friday at 10am.
