Wimbledon: Former Slam champion Ostapenko powers past Snigur into third round
Jelena Ostapenko won against Daria Snigur 6-3, 6-0 on Thursday and will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 23 seed, and American Bernarda Pera in the next round

Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 13 seed, advanced to the third round of Wimbledon by winning against Ukrainian qualifier Daria Snigur 6-3, 6-0 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Londres on Thursday afternoon.
The Latvian, a former semi-finalist at Wimbledon, is one of 13 woman that entered the women’s singles draw this year at SW19.
Ostapenko, ranked No 14, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 23 seed, and American Bernarda Pera next.
Ahead of her victory, the Latvian beat Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic (6-1, 6-2).
Snigur, ranked No 130, won against Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin (6-4, 6-0) in the previous round of The Championships.
