Hall of Fame Open: Kovacevic edges past Rinderknech to reach last eight
Aleksandar Kovacevic edged out Arthur Rinderknech 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 on Wednesday evening and will play No 3 seed Alex Michelsen in the next round

American Aleksandar Kovacevic moved into the quarter-finals of the Hall of Fame Open by edging out Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, the No 7 seed, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum in Newport.
Kovacevic, ranked No 91, will face No 3 seed Alex Michelsen next.
In the previous round of the Newport tournament, the American beat Frenchman Harold Mayot (7-6 (1), 6-4).
Rinderknech, ranked No 66, won against Japanese Shintaro Mochizuki (6-3, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round of the Newport tournament.
