Australian Aleksandar Vukic, the No 6 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Hall of Fame Open by beating American wildcard Eliot Spizzirri 6-2, 7-6 (3) at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Wednesday evening.
Vukic, ranked No 65, will play the winner of the match between wildcard Ethan Quinn and No 4 seed Christopher Eubanks next.
In the previous round of the Newport tournament, the Australian won against Chak Lam Coleman Wong (6-1, 6-2).
Spizzirri, ranked No 393, won against Australian qualifier Li Tu (6-1, 7-6 (4)) in the previous round of the Newport tournament.
