American wildcard Nicolas Moreno De Alboran reached the quarter-finals of the Generali Open by winning against Austrian wildcard Lukas Neumayer 6-4, 6-4 at Kitzbühel Tennis Club in Kitzbuhel on Wednesday.
Moreno De Alboran, ranked No 143, will play the winner of the match between Italian Matteo Berrettini and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the second seed, next.
The American beat Argentinian qualifier Andrea Collarini (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Kitzbuhel tournament.
In the previous round of the Kitzbuhel tournament, Neumayer, ranked No 289, edged out No 5 seed Sebastian Ofner (6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (3)).
