Generali Open: Acosta upsets Martinez to book spot in last four

Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta moved into the semi-finals of the Generali Open by edging out Spaniard Pedro Martinez, the No 4 seed, 6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-4 at Kitzbühel Tennis Club in Kitzbuhel on Thursday.
Acosta, ranked No 77, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the top seed, and Frenchman Hugo Gaston next.
The Argentinian won against Federico Coria (2-6, 6-3, 6-0) and Colombian qualifier Daniel Elahi Galan (6-2, 4-6, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Kitzbuhel tournament, Martinez, ranked No 45, defeated Indian Sumit Nagal (7-5, 7-5).
