Washington Open: Bouzkova races past Montgomery to make semi-finals
Marie Bouzkova defeated Robin Montgomery 6-3, 6-1 on Friday night and will face the winner of the match between top seed Aryna Sabalenka and No 6 seed Victoria Azarenka in the next round

Marie Bouzkova won against American wildcard Robin Montgomery 6-3, 6-1 to reach the last 4 of the Washington Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center on Friday night.
Bouzkova, ranked No 43, will play the winner of the match between top seed Aryna Sabalenka and No 6 seed Victoria Azarenka next.
Marie Bouzkova beat American qualifier McCartney Kessler (6-4, 4-6, 6-2) and American Taylor Townsend (7-5, 7-6 (8)) in the previous rounds of the Washington tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Montgomery, ranked No 131, won against Shelby Rogers (7-5, 6-3) and Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 4 seed (W/O).
