Australian Christopher O’Connell moved into the second round of the Winston-Salem Open by winning against American qualifier Strong Kirchheimer 7-5, 6-4 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Monday evening.
O’Connell, ranked No 86, will play No 12 seed Arthur Rinderknech next.
