Swiss Jil Teichmann won against Liechtensteiner lucky loser Kathinka von Deichmann 6-4, 6-1 to move into the last eight of the Montreux Nestlé Open on Wednesday.
Teichmann, ranked No 202, will play Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Swiss beat Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot (6-0, 4-6, 6-2).
Von Deichmann, ranked No 216, edged out Swiss wildcard Valentina Ryser (2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4) during the 32.
