China Open: Muchova joins Sabalenka in quarter-finals

Karolina Muchova won against Spaniard Cristina Bucsa 6-2, 6-0 to move into the last 8 of the China Open at the National Tennis Center in Beijing on Wednesday.
Muchova, ranked No 49, will face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, next. She has the upper hand over the Belarusian, courtesy of a favorable 2-1 head-to-head.
Earlier in the tournament, Karolina Muchova beat Russian Anna Blinkova (6-1, 6-1), Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 30 seed (6-3, 6-1) and Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (6-1, 6-3).
Bucsa, ranked No 79, won against Chinese wildcard Xinxin Yao (6-3, 6-2), Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 11 seed (6-1, 4-6, 6-4) and Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 24 seed (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Beijing tournament.
