Hong Kong 125 Open: Blinkova upsets Navarro to reach semi-finals

Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 7 seed, reached the last four of the Hong Kong 125 Open by defeating American Emma Navarro, the top seed, 6-4, 6-3 on Friday.
Blinkova, ranked No 78, will play Australian Ajla Tomljanovic next.
Ahead of her victory, the Russian won against Thai qualifier Peangtarn Plipuech (6-1, 6-2) and Romanian wildcard Simona Halep (6-2, 6-1).
Navarro, ranked No 8, beat Swiss Viktorija Golubic (7-5, 6-4) and Australian Kimberly Birrell (6-2, 6-4) in the previous rounds.
