Shanghai Masters: Dimitrov moves into last 16

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 9 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Shanghai Masters by winning against Australian Alexei Popyrin, the No 20 seed, 7-6 (5), 6-2 at the Qi Zhong Tennis Center on Tuesday.
Dimitrov used 90 minutes to dismantle Popyrin’s challenge, winning an impressive 97 percent of his first-serve points.
Also, the Bulgarian kept his serve unchallenged while breaking Popyrin’s twice in six attempts to record his 40th win of the season.
Dimitrov, ranked No 10, will face Jakub Mensik next.
In the previous round of the Shanghai tournament, the 33-year-old Bulgarian beat Belgian Zizou Bergs (6-3, 3-6, 6-2).
Popyrin, ranked No 24, won against Serb Miomir Kecmanovic (6-3, 6-2) during the second round of the Shanghai tournament.
