Almaty Open: Diallo takes out Cerundolo to reach final

Canadian Gabriel Diallo advanced to the final of the Almaty Open by beating Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, 6-4, 6-2 at Almaty Arena on Saturday.
Diallo, ranked No 118, will play the winner of the match between Australian Aleksandar Vukic and Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Canadian won against Australian Christopher O’Connell (7-6 (5), 6-2), Croat Borna Coric (7-6 (1), 6-4) and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the second seed (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Cerundolo, ranked No 31, defeated German wildcard Justin Engel (6-4, 7-6 (3)) and Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko (6-2, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
