Canadian Rebecca Marino defeated Mexican wildcard Jessica Hinojosa Gomez 6-1, 6-0 to advance to the last 16 of the WTA $125K Abierto Tampico on Tuesday.
Marino, ranked No 118, will play Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 3 seed, next.
