Italian Lucrezia Stefanini reached the last 16 of the WTA $125K Abierto Tampico by defeating American Ann Li 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Stefanini, ranked No 166, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the top seed, and Indian qualifier Sahaja Yamalapalli next.
