Hong Kong Open: Yuan advances to last eight
Yue Yuan defeated Nao Hibino on Wednesday and will play the winner of the match between Sofia Kenin and Jessika Ponchet next

Chinese Yuan Yue, the No 6 seed, beat Japanese Nao Hibino 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Hong Kong Open at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay on Wednesday.
Yuan, ranked No 45, will face the winner of the match between American Sofia Kenin and Frenchwoman Jessika Ponchet next.
Ahead of her victory, the Chinese won against Romanian wildcard Simona Halep (6-3, 6-3).
Hibino, ranked No 159, edged out Chinese lucky loser Jia-Jing Lu (6-7 (4), 6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Hong Kong tournament.
