Canadian Rebecca Marino, the No 6 seed, won against American qualifier Robin Anderson 6-4, 7-6 (4) to advance to the last 16 of the Dow Tennis Classic on Tuesday.
Marino, ranked No 115, will face the winner of the match between Canadian Carol Zhao and American Louisa Chirico next.
