Romanian qualifier Gabriela Lee won against Canadian lucky loser Kayla Cross 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the last 16 of the Fifth Third Charleston 125 2 on Tuesday.
Lee, ranked No 306, will face No 8 seed Iva Jovic next.
