Serb Miomir Kecmanovic won against Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 8 seed, 6-3, 6-3 to move into the second round of the Hong Kong Open at the Victoria Park Tennis Centre on Monday.
Kecmanovic, ranked No 54, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Alexandre Muller and Swiss qualifier Marc-Andrea Huesler next.
