Auckland Open: Montgomery through to quarter-finals
The American will face countrywoman Bernarda Pera in the next round

American Robin Montgomery defeated Japanese qualifier Nao Hibino 6-2, 6-2 to move into the last eight of the Auckland Open at the ASB Tennis Arena on Thursday.
Montgomery, ranked No 117, will play American Bernarda Pera next.
Ahead of her win today, the 20-year-old American won against Japanese lucky loser Mai Hontama (6-3, 2-6, 6-0).
Hibino, ranked No 145, won against German Jule Niemeier (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the tournament.
