ATP Hong Kong: Nishikori into first final in six years
The former world No 4 will play Frenchman Alexandre Muller in the final on Sunday

Japanese wildcard Kei Nishikori advanced to the final of the Hong Kong Open when China’s Juncheng Shang retired on Saturday.
Nishikori, a former top 5 player who is currently ranked No 106, led 4-3 when Shang, ranked No 50, pulled out at the Victoria Park Tennis Centre due to illness.
The 35-year-old Japanese will face Frenchman Alexandre Muller for the title on Sunday. It is his first ATP Tour-level final since Brisbane in 2019.
Ahead of his win today, Nishikori won against Canadian Denis Shapovalov (6-2, 6-3), Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 3 seed (4-6, 6-3, 7-5) and Cameron Norrie (6-3, 3-6, 6-2).
The 19-year-old Chinese defeated wildcard Chak Lam Coleman Wong (7-6 (3), 6-4), Spaniard Pedro Martinez, the No 7 seed (6-3, 6-1) and Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (1-6, 6-3, 6-4) earlier in the week.
