Australian Christopher O’Connell reached the second round of the Adelaide Open by defeating Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech 7-5, 7-6 (5) at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Monday.
O’Connell, ranked No 64, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 6 seed, and Serb Miomir Kecmanovic next.
