Eye of the Coach #99: “Djokovic is so much more motivated this year”
In the latest episode of Eye of the Coach, Patrick Mouratoglou makes some predictions for Novak Djokovic’s year ahead
Patrick Mouratoglou says that Novak Djokovic‘s motivation is back for 2025 – and he may well win a Grand Slam this year.
In the latest episode of Eye of the Coach, the Frenchman says he thinks that the former world No 1 lacked a little motivation last season – but that will not be the case in the 12 months ahead.
With the appointment of new coach Andy Murray, and the suggestion that he will play in more tournaments, it looks like Djokovic is raring to go.
“The fact that he wants to play much more shows how motivated he is this year,” says Mouratoglou, adding: “Novak is Novak, the greatest player of all time. We can’t forget that: someone who has incredible resources when he has the motivation that he had all his career. If the motivation is really back, we have to count on him, and I can’t believe he’s not going to win at least one [Grand Slam] this year.”
