Montpellier Open: Basilashvili gets impressive win over Rinderknech, books spot in last four

Georgian qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili advanced to the quarter-finals of the Montpellier Open by winning against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, the No 7 seed, 6-0, 7-6 (4) at the Sud de France Arena on Thursday evening.
Basilashvili, ranked No 178, will face Russian Andrey Rublev, the top seed, next.
The Georgian benefited from the abandonment of Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin (6-3, 3-6, 5-0) in the previous round of the Montpellier tournament.
In the first round of the Montpellier tournament, Rinderknech, ranked No 61, defeated Harold Mayot (7-6 (2), 2-6, 6-1).
