Belarusian lucky loser Aliaksandra Sasnovich defeated Canadian qualifier Marina Stakusic 6-3, 7-5 to move into the last eight of the Cluj-Napoca Open at the BT Arena on Wednesday.
Sasnovich, ranked No 128, will play Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Belarusian edged out Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, the No 6 seed (6-7, 7-5, 6-4).
Stakusic, ranked No 119, edged out Romanian Sorana Cirstea (6-1, 1-6, 6-4) in the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament.
